Realm of the Shtupman I

A journal of sorts. This is the tale of a man of little consequence published at the end of the last century.

Home again, naturally. I don't feel good, I'm grumpy, and just in general don't want to be fucked with.

To complicate matters more, Bubba (our hopelessly concupiscent prez.) decided that yesterday was as good a day as any to bomb the hell out of Baghdad. That, dear ones, is today's commentary.

The media would dearly like you to believe that this action was motivated simply to divert attention away from his forthcoming impeachment. I most sincerely doubt that even this guy could be such a total fuckup. Instead, I believe that this was actually a fairly nicely orchestrated and relatively well timed event. The element of surprise was definitely there, and it does appear as though the mission was effective. Of course, to be fully so, Mr. Houssein has to bleed a little.

Don't get me wrong about two things. First, I deplore war, and the entire concept. I am a staunch believer in the power of detante and diplomacy. However, I am not so naive as to believe that everyone shares in my thoughts. Mr. Houssein appears to be one of my detractors. he is leading those in the Muslim religion to believe that this is a "holy war," strategically timed to interfere with Ramadan. I believe the opposite to be true. Nobody wants to be at war in the festive season. Mr. Houssein knows this, and was thusly surprised that his hard-headedness was greeted with missiles. Consistently, Mr. Houssein has pushed the fragile peace that shortly existed in the area to its edge, and this time, the National Security Council said "Ahh, fuck him. We've got enough friends." Therefore, and for these reasons, I am in favour of his use of force.

Second point. Anyone who knows me well, also recognizes that I am oriented towards the Republican party, and think that Richard Nixon was the greatest thing since sliced bread. To the end of Bubba creating this military action as a diversionary tactic, I say hogwash. I have no doubt that Mr. Clinton will be impeached. That decision was made by the republican majority several months ago. Voting records are split along partisan lines, so in my mind, there is no doubt that it will needlessly occur. Yes, needlessly. I'm not supporting Bubba's impeachment. The founding fathers designed the process of removal of high officials to protect the state against people who would significantly erode the ability of the United States to remain a sovereign state. Granted, perjury is nothing to laugh off, but it is the laughable action of the Congress which is eroding the public's and international trust.

As a result of Mr. Starr's investigation, Jesus couldn't be elected president. (Hmmm, way too liberal, and hangs out with hookers, druggies, and other assorted scum.)

Yup, thems my $0.02 on the matter. Now, I suggest that you read a little about something that happened in Washington, DC called the "Forgotten Man March." It happened about 1931 or so, in response to the US government's lack of ability to fix its own domestic problems after W.W.I. Got it? Now watch "Golddiggers of 1933" with oh-so-cute Dick Powell, Ginger Rogers, and the woman who redefines the word "hoofer," Ruby Keeler. Sing along with the final tune:
I don't know if he deserves
a bit of sympathy.
Forget your sympathy.
It's all right with me.
I was satisfied to drift along
from day to day.
Till they came
and took my man away.
Remember my forgotten man?
You put a rifle in his hand.
You sent him far away,
You shouted Hip-Hooray,
but look at him today.
Remember my forgotten man
You had him cultivate the land
He walked behind a plough,
The sweat fell from his brow,
But look at him right now....
Once he used to love me
I was happy then.
He used to take care of me,
Won't you bring him back again?
Cause, ever since the world began,
A woman's got to have a man.
Forgetting him, you see,
Means you're forgetting me,
Like my forgotten man!

Its a mighty powerful anthem when you know the story of the "forgotten men." Another prime example of our government's inhumanity unto itself.
